My only problem with this is that it's not at least seven times as long.

I did not enjoy the book Wuthering Heights, but I've been curious to see a film version. It looks like it will have to be this one. And not just because Mumford & Sons wrote an itty bitty song for it. But partly.

I've never cared for Wuthering Heights either. I've heard it described as a fever dream of a fever dream... or something like that. Everyone in it seems horribly unbalanced and irrational and I always end up putting the book down with an icky feeling in the back of my heart. So yeah... Wuthering Heights me no like-y.

That said, the video was beautiful and the song just lovely. Amelia heard it and was all like... "oh, oh, OH! Is that Mumford and Sons??? Ohhh, what a pretty song".... sigh... I think we'll be watching this one;-)

A fever dream of a fever dream seems about right. And that's it exactly: everyone in the story is so awful! Even the ending didn't bring enough redemption to the story to make it OK. It was just weird and icky.

Good ear, Amelia! ;)

The last (and first) time I read Wuthering Heights was when I was 15, and I loved it - but I was an overly dreamy teenager, and I happened to be staying in a castle when I read it, so it's hard to know whether I would like as much if I read it now! I've never seen a screen version, but I love watching period dramas at the cinema.

Love the song! I read Wuthering Heights once, very quickly, about six years ago, and I confess I don't remember anything about it except the main characters' names. I may have to re-read it though because there's an opera of it which I'm curious about, and I want to compare it to the book.

I hated the book; Although beautifully written, I thought the lovers a couple of freaks. The song is cool, though.
